25 years in the sport

I was racing long before I ever held a microphone, and that's the lens I bring to every job: hosting for Nike, Red Bull, On and Apple, commentating national championships, interviewing Olympic champions in the mixed zone, and building the social channels of a European Championships. Athletes can tell when you've stood on the same start line, and it's why they relax, open up and have fun on camera.

The GOAT Shed

An idea that started small and grew into something historic: a studio beside the medal ceremony stage, where Europe's best athletes came straight from the podium and showed who they really are.

The aim was to celebrate medals in a way built for social: less serious, more fun and all about personality. It was a first for the European Athletics Championships and a cornerstone of the championships' social output. I led the concept, strategy and social roll-out, working alongside the European Athletics marketing team.

  1. Straight from the podium

Medallists walked in from the ceremony stage next door, still buzzing from the moment.

  2. Tea and a biscuit

A proper English breakfast tea in a mug of their choice and a plate of classic English biscuits, to break the ice before the cameras rolled.

  3. The segments

A rotating set of segments made for social, from finish the lyric (which turned into karaoke more than once) to top five hype songs, fantasy relay teams, the Mount Rushmore of athletics and plenty more.

  4. The quick-fire quiz

Five questions, fastest time wins. Every athlete signed the scoreboard behind them on the way out.
